How to Play

Poke Wordle is a guessing game where you try to identify a Pokémon based on various clues including types, abilities, stats, evolution, and more.

  1. Enter a Pokémon name in any supported language or a Pokédex number, then choose your guess.
  2. Each guess will show you how close your guess is to the target.
  3. Use the clues to find the exact Pokémon and form within the allowed number of guesses.

Play as many random rounds as you like. Each round has a guess limit; choose that limit and the included generations in Settings.

Six kinds of clues

Type
Each type is compared separately.
Base stat total
Compare the sum of all six base stats.
Generation
Compare the generation in which this entry first appeared.
Abilities
Each ability is compared separately.
Evolution
Compare evolution stage and evolution method.
Tags
Compare special categories, such as Legendary or Mythical Pokémon.

Example: Your guess has a base stat total of 500. A yellow up arrow ↑ means the answer's total is between 501 and 550.

Colors, arrows and special rules

Color Guide

  • Green Tag Indicates that this tag matches exactly with the target Pokémon's corresponding tag
  • Yellow Tag Indicates that this tag is close to the target Pokémon's corresponding tag
  • Gray Tag Indicates that this tag is different from the target Pokémon's corresponding tag

↑ means the answer's value is higher; ↓ means it is lower. Generation arrows only appear when enabled in Settings.

Yellow Tag Conditions

  • Base Stats: The Pokémon's base stat total differs from the target by ≤ 50
  • Generation: The Pokémon's first appearance generation is adjacent to the target's generation
  • Evolution: Both Pokémon have similar but not identical evolution methods (e.g., both level up, but one requires learning a move and the other requires high friendship)

Even all-green clues do not guarantee a win: you must guess the exact Pokémon entry, including its form.

In Prankster mode, a hidden clue tells you neither that it matches nor that it differs.
