Which Poison-Type Pokémon Are Legendary?

Which Pokémon count?

Eternatus, Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti are Legendary Pokémon with Poison in their usual typing. Pecharunt is Poison-type too, but it is Mythical; Naganadel belongs to the Ultra Beasts. A useful list needs both the type and the category, rather than a loose definition of “rare Pokémon.”

This article covers species introduced in Generations I–IX, checked on September 21, 2026. We count each species once, using its usual typing before item-dependent changes or battle transformations. Terastallization and moves that change types do not add species to the main list. Silvally needs a separate explanation because it can become Poison-type with an item.

The following table combines the classification with the clues used by Poke Wordle. The total is the sum of the six base stats, not a Pokémon’s level, current stats or Pokémon GO CP.

Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti are the Loyal Three. Their shared total of 555 and Toxic Chain make a good memory aid, but their second types and other available Abilities distinguish them. Eternatus has a different total and belongs to Generation VIII. The Ability column lists the options attached to each game entry; it does not mean one individual uses every Ability simultaneously. Why Pecharunt and Ultra Beasts are listed separately

Poke Wordle distinguishes Legendary, Mythical and Ultra Beast tags. These examples explain why finding Poison in a Pokédex entry is not enough to put it into the first table.

Pecharunt’s total of 600 does not turn it into a Legendary Pokémon. Likewise, Poipole evolving into Naganadel does not change their Ultra Beast classification. What about Silvally and Arceus?

Silvally is Legendary and normally Normal-type. In games that support its Memory items, RKS System changes its type to match the Memory it holds; a Poison Memory therefore makes it Poison-type. A list of Legendary Pokémon that can be Poison-type must include that conditional case, even though it sits outside our four-species list of usual typings.

Arceus can also take on the Poison type through its type-changing mechanics, including the Toxic Plate in games that support it. Its category remains Mythical. Changing type does not change category.

Poke Wordle currently has one Normal-type entry each for Silvally and Arceus, without separate Poison-type answers. Knowledge of the main-series mechanic does not alter the type clue used by this guessing game. Silvally and its forms.

Using the distinction in Poke Wordle

The example uses normal mode, with all clues visible. Suppose the answer is Munkidori and you guess Okidogi in Poke Wordle. Poison, the Legendary tag, Generation IX, the total of 555 and Toxic Chain all match and turn green. Fighting and Guard Dog do not match and turn gray. The total matches exactly, so it does not need a higher or lower arrow.

Those green clues cannot confirm Okidogi: the gray clues already rule out that guess. Among the Loyal Three, Munkidori and Fezandipiti share the matching features but differ in their other type and Ability: Psychic with Frisk versus Fairy with Technician. A later guess can test those differences. This is a comparison within that group, not a claim that a particular settings combination leaves exactly two candidates across the entire game.

The game checks each displayed type and Ability separately against the answer’s available values. A green Toxic Chain does not reveal which Ability an individual Pokémon would use in battle. See the clue and color guide for how to read partial matches.

Scope and sources

An old claim that there were no Poison-type Legendary Pokémon may describe an earlier generation, not the scope above. Counts need a date and a definition. This guide does not determine tournament eligibility or rank combat strength.
